Ever wonder what kind of food they served in Kerala? India has a very diverse culture and tradition, the festivities and food goes along with it. Almost every place has its own festivities and own style of cooking. Kerala is an Indian state in South India on the Malabar Coast. When its coastal, we'll expect seafood, fish and some other coastal cuisine.

People from Kerala has a unique style of speaking their dialect. It also shows in the food preparation and taste. Vegetables and fish are the common dish at this part of India. We will go South India this lunch time and it is worth to explore.

Since it's almost lunchtime when we reached the restaurant, the place was already full. We have to wait for a while to have a seat. Once you got your table, the waiters will start the preparation for serving the food.
I ordered Thali Meal. Instead of the usual plate set-up, it was prepared on a banana leaf. They've put different kind of curries followed by the matta rice. I suggest that you make a crater on your rice, I called it the "volcano", before they put the vegetable and fish curry. Now you can start eating.

Traditionally, eating with hands is the right way to eat it. An Indian colleague of mine told me that eating is a sensual activity. Touch is part of the experience along with the taste, aroma of the food and its presentation such as on a Thali.

There's a waiter roaming around offering fried fish. It looks really tempting and seemed like it is so tasty. But beware! It is super, duper, mega spicy! The first time I had those, my lips got numb for almost half a day. I jokingly called it the "killer fish". Of course, my colleague loved it and finished it like a sweet candy.
